Tumblr Users Reactions After Yahoo's Takeover They Start Online Petitions To Stop

Tumblr Users Start Online Petitions to Stop Yahoo From Buying Tumblr

This week there was big news in tech-site, that Yahoo was officially going to buy Tumblr (the blog-hosting social sites) for $1.1 billion. And again Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo, highlighted in news, as serial-startup hunter.
This news famously made, David Karp(26) a high school dropped out, Founder and CEO of Tumblr young multi-millionaire. After selling Tumblr to Yahoo, he will get $200 million in return and according to Yahoo he still serves Tumblr. Last week of  March, Yahoo famously bought Summly a mobile application and made 17 years teen multi-millionaire.

Personally all are praising, the achievement of David Karp but majority users of Tumblr are against on this deal.  They don’t like tumblr comes under Yahoo control. Paresh Dave writes, users are showing their anger commenting and creating an online petition to stop Yahoo from buying Tumblr with targeted 5,000,000 signatures.

Some users wrote, “everything yahoo, touches turn to poop.” They are blaming that, Yahoo is acquiring a lots of popular startup because of its inability to produce successful products.

After seeing big criticism from Tumblr users, at press conference  Yahoo  CEO Marissa Mayer said, Tumbler would operate independently, and Yahoo would not mess up with Tumblr, but users are not believing this. They said, there will not more freedom, under Yahoo controls, and they are going to lose their blogging rights and freedom.

To calm the angry users, Yahoo further said, it would offer 1 terabyte of storage on Flicker (Photo sharing sites).
